stolen

A few nights ago my buddy robert and I were sitting at a nearby starbucks… we had our laptops up and we were just clicking around working on a few things. Nothing out of the ordinary, except for the old lady who would turn around and stare at us for minutes at a time.  Normally wouldn’t be a problem (just another crazy old lady in NY) but she was litteraly sitting 3 feet from us - just staring us down. Ok enough of the side track… So there we were, clicking away, when this big dude soaked from the rain comes in and walks around starbucks. No big deal, he was probably ordering something. Next thing we know he is heading out of the door with Roberts umbrella - which was previously sitting right behind us. This dude couldn’t have been more stealthy… we didn’t even know what happened until we did a quick inventory check.

Robert: What should I do?
Jim: Umm… go get it back?
Robert: Ok.
Robert runs out the door.
Robert running in the rain after a 6 foot 3 black man in the rain
Robert to thief: Hey, can I have my umbrella back?
Thief raises umbrella up in the air and yells “WHAT!?!"
Robert: Look man, can I just please have it back?
Thief: Here you go.

Wild deal… robert came back in all soaked from running in the monsoon and said to me “Jim, what just happened?” - I said “some dude stole your umbrella and you got it back.”
