"Slava" to his friends - philharmonic

The sweet sounds of the NY Philharmonic filled our ears last night as we sat in our box seats listening to Mstislav Rostropovich move the orchestra like waves of sound softly washing up on a sandy beach, then, without notice, crashing against hard rock.
Mstislav was conducting Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony and First Violin Concerto (with Maxim Vengerov as soloist). The show was AMAZING, I have never really been to a symphony before and boy was I missing out. I took Amy for our one year anniversary (give or take a month) as I know she really enjoys the philharmonic. It turns out - I really like the philharmonic as well. If you want to read more on the show and the amazing conductor here is the NYtimes article on Mstislav Rostropovich
