what a mess

Swimming in data. I am nearing the breaking point with all of this stuff. What stuff? The stuff you can’t see, the stuff inside the computer, way too many 1s and 0s for me to keep track. That is my dilemma, I just can’t keep track. Whew, sorry for that - had to get it all out. Let me calm down for just a second ......................

Still here? Ok. What I was trying to say is that I have information scattered everywhere. Bookmarks on 4 different computers, email across 3 platforms and 5 addresses, files on 3 computers and a treo, different sets of music on 2 computers and an iPod, and lastly I have haggard and mangled rss feeds all over the place.

My first item to do, is to get my bookmarks all in order. I have found a semi-good solution in the bookmark synchronizer plugin for firefox. It allows you to upload your bookmarks to a server and then download the same set across your multiple computers. Each time you make a bookmark change you can then just click a button to have it upload the newest version. One step better, it allows you to upload your newest file on each firefox exit and download the newest file on each firefox startup.  The only issue I will now have to tackle, is moving all of my bookmarking to firefox and out of IE (at work) and Safari (at home). Once this issue is tackled I can then move on to the next tangle in the wire, which I think will be organizing my RSS feeds - which is a semi-related issue.
