I started this website when I moved to New York - July 31st, 2004. I moved here from Oklahoma in search of fame and glory in the advertising world. I will write about what goes on in my life and in my head. I will share my experiences with those who wish to keep up, and those who mistakenly stumbled here.

Happy Birthday Jitba!

disclaimer: This post absurdly overdue

It was my first ever jiminthebigapple dot com party. Amy did an amazing job and pulled off a complete surprise. She even had her parents there all the way from switzerland! At least thats what I tell myself they were in town for. The event was the 4 year marker of the launch of this website which also makes it my 4th year in NYC.

Having city birthdays might seem strange to some, but as I found out July 31st, it is a totally normal occurrence here in the big apple. I felt kind of bad at first having everyone there for a silly city birthday, but then I came to grips and realized everyone is just looking for the next excuse to have some fun. I was happy to be that excuse. Thanks amy for an awesome night!

I recently bought a new pocket camera (kodak 1033) and have decided to start carrying it around with me. There are lots of neat things going on in NYC and I rarely have a capable camera on hand.

Sitting down in the hallway - Lee from utterz.com walked up and asked if he could do a few second interview with Jeremy, Mike and I to showcase the service. Below you can play the audio from the interview and see the awesome group shot of us sporting our new utterz.com wristbands. Utterz.com lets you instantly post to the web - audio, video, and photos. The quality is so so but I guess that is the trade off for instant access.

Back from the hills

Amy took me on a great trip this past weekend. We went fly fishing in the housatonic, went to the warren fall festival… about as small town as you can get, wine tasting at two beautiful vineyards and had sunday brunch at an amazing Inn on the edge of a lake.

Lake George photos and a rundown

In the photos you will see a few things:

• A huge orange tent
• Small yellow tent (orlandos)
• 2 Homeland Security urban titanium camo knives (for hunting bears)
• 4 smaller pocket knives (for shotgunning beers)
• 1 $6.49 walmart machete (for carving up trails in the forest)
• 1 $30.00 walmart spring loaded red ryder bb gun - for shooting beer cans - and the chipmunk dave caught eating our food
• Fish on hooks - we caught around 5 to 10 fish each over the 2 days
• Lots of beer - we each took a 30 pack and finished it. Except for Craig who brought 24 bottles.
• Spears, which we widdled with the gaggle of knives in arsenal
• One spider infested outhouse that orlando was brave enough to use

The weekend was such a blast and I can’t wait to do it again. Being out in the woods and on the water really makes you forget about all the things going on and lets you escape for a little bit.
